  26. NO parallel port "PC" devices can be run on the amiga. This is NOT
  27. due to any fault of the amiga, its the doofy port on the PC, and the
  28. workarounds to feed the PC back its data a nibble at a time on the
  29. STATUS lines of the PC printer port that get in the way. The Miggy
  30. port is in fact fully by-directional, the PC isn't.

  32. That said, there is a program called PC2AM304.lha that has a working
  33. protocol using a "laplink" cable that might be a method of making
  34. that transition a bit less painfull. Since I have neither the PC, nor
  35. a tape drive for one of them thingies, I can't say as it will work,
  36. only that there is a possibility that the author of that might be
  37. able to tell you how to make it work, or do some minimal re-writing
  38. to make a port driver/receiver out of it that would work.

  40. I'm afraid that, as surmised on the PC, the recovery phase will be
  41. annoyingly slow.  No program that slices data up into nibbles and
  42. sends it thru a 2 microsecond/nibble port is gonna be a speed demon,
  43. too much data shuffling going on IMO.
